Eye care that comes
to you
Every community programme is led by a qualified optometrist and ophthalmologist and equipped with portable diagnostic instruments — the same clinical standards as our branches, on location.
School Eye Screenings
Identifying uncorrected refractive error and undetected conditions in children — before they affect learning
An estimated 1 in 5 school-age children in Lagos has an uncorrected vision problem. Many are labelled as slow learners when the real issue is simply that they cannot see the board clearly. Our school screening programme identifies these children early and connects families with affordable or subsidised correction.
Each visit covers an entire class or year group. Every screened child receives a take-home report for parents, and those flagged for follow-up are given a direct referral to our nearest branch — with fees waivable for families who cannot afford them.
What's included
- Visual acuity screening (distance & near)
- Cover test & eye alignment assessment
- Colour vision screening
- Take-home report for every child
- Referral letters for flagged cases
- Summary report for school administration
Corporate Eye Health
On-site screening days, wellness packages, and occupational vision care for employers and their teams
Digital eye strain, undetected refractive error and occupational hazards cost Nigerian businesses millions of naira in reduced productivity each year. Our corporate programme brings a full clinical setup to your premises — no disruption to the working day, no staff travel required.
We work with HR and occupational health teams to design a programme suited to your workforce — from a single screening day to an ongoing annual wellness contract. All staff receive individual confidential reports, and companies receive an anonymised summary with actionable occupational health recommendations.
What's included
- Visual acuity & refractive error screening
- Intraocular pressure check
- Digital eye strain assessment
- Colour vision check
- Individual staff report & referral if needed
- Company-level occupational health summary
- Discounted branch follow-up for all staff
NGO & Government Partnerships
We are actively seeking new partners, particularly those in undeserved communities in Lagos LGAs, where access to eye care is most limited.
We partner with NGOs, international health bodies, state ministries and faith-based organisations to embed eye care within existing community health infrastructure. This includes joint planning of outreach events, referral pathway agreements, and capacity-building for community health workers.
Our team has partnered with organisations including Sightsavers, CBM, the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, and several faith-based community health networks. We are actively seeking new partners, particularly those working in Northern Lagos LGAs where eye care access is most limited.
What we offer partners
- Joint outreach planning and logistics
- Agreed referral pathway for complex cases
- Co-branded health education materials
- Data reporting for programme M&E
- Subsidised surgical referrals where needed
TED Foundation
The charitable arm of The Eye Doctors — delivering free and subsidised eye care to those who need it most across Nigeria
The TED Foundation is the philanthropic arm of The Eye Doctors, channelling resources from corporate donors, individual supporters, and international development partners directly into free and subsidised eye care for underserved Nigerians.
Foundation-funded programmes operate independently of our commercial outreach work. They are designed to reach communities and individuals who would not ordinarily seek or access care — including rural and peri-urban populations, the elderly, children in public schools, and patients requiring surgery they cannot afford.
If you are an organisation, foundation, or individual interested in funding, partnering, or donating to the TED Foundation, we welcome the conversation.
What the Foundation funds
- Free outreach screenings in underserved LGAs
- Subsidised & free cataract surgery for indigent patients
- Free spectacles for children from low-income families
- Eye health education in public schools & markets
- Training and capacity building for community health workers
- Low-vision rehabilitation support
